[ARCHIVED] Grow Solar St. Louis Offers Free Webinars on Solar Energy

Grow Solar

Are you interested in going solar, but don’t know where to start? Grow Solar St. Louis is kicking off its second year of the group-buy solar energy program organized by the Missouri Botanical Garden and Midwest Regional Energy Association (MREA) in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis. Upon recommendation of the Energy and Environment Committee, the City of Creve Coeur is one of a small handful of municipal partners with this organization.

Over the next few months, the Missouri Botanical Garden and MREA are offering free, hour-long virtual educational sessions for anyone interested in learning more about solar energy. These “Solar Power Hours” give prospective participants information about how solar energy works, the financial costs and incentives, how solar group buy programs are effective and where to get started in the solar installation process.

Grow Solar St. Louis uses the power of bulk purchasing to reduce the upfront costs of installing solar. As more people join the program and decide to go solar, pricing becomes more affordable. Last year, 71 homes in the St. Louis region went solar, installing 424 KW of renewable energy throughout St. Louis City and County.

To be eligible to participate in the group-buy program, home and small business owners in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County need to attend a free Solar Power Hour or complete online learning modules. Visit www.growsolar.org/stl  to learn more and sign up for a virtual Solar Power Hour!

Upcoming Solar Power Hours:

  • Wednesday, June 24, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 9, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 15, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
