  • Be a qualified voter;
  • Be a resident of Creve Coeur for a minimum of one year prior to the election; and
  • Submit a petition form with 50 signatures of registered voters.

Petition Process Guidelines

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates are encouraged to collect signatures in ways that reduce or eliminate face-to-face contact with the community. Candidates should keep in mind the below guidelines when collecting signatures:

  • Original signed petition forms and/or copies of signed petition forms, such as a scan or photo of the signed petition form, will be accepted. For example, individuals may sign the form and send a digital copy of the signed form to the candidate.
  • Signatures must be signed by hand, whether that be with a writing utensil or a stylus pen; Electronic signatures or typed signatures will not be accepted, as they cannot be verified by election authorities.
  • Candidates may submit multiple signed petition forms; all 50 or 150 signatures do not need to be on a single form. For example, City Council candidates may submit 50 separate petition forms with one signature per form.
