“Dan has had a profound impact on the city’s financial stability,” said Creve Coeur Mayor Barry Glantz. “He is an invaluable leader in local and state finances, and I thank him for his service to our community.”

Smith has worked in municipal government for the majority of his 41-year professional career including serving as the City Administrator for the cities of O’Fallon and Branson, Missouri as well as Finance Director for the cities of Meadville, Pennsylvania and Fairborn, Ohio. He became a certified public accountant in 1988. In 2015, he was recognized by his peers with the Missouri GFOA Excellence in Government Award.

“Dan is the consummate professional. He has always put the city’s interests first. His contributions to Creve Coeur over his 13 years of service have been enormous,” said City Administrator Mark Perkins.
