The Fiscal Year 2018 Annual Report was recently released, detailing accomplishments of the city’s boards and commissions, volunteers, and departments from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
According to the report, the city benefited from approximately 83 volunteers whose 2,628 hours of work ranged from office help to event management and manual labor. The city also received significant assistance through grants totaling $375,687.
Fiscal Year 2018 brought recognition for several city programs and initiatives. The Finance Department was recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), receiving the FY17 Popular Annual Financial Report Award, the FY17 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Award, and the FY18 Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The city’s Public Works Department received the Award of Excellence from Metropolitan Sewer District for its Phase II Stormwater Management Plan. The Police Department was also awarded re-accreditation for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
